Oppo appears to be working on one of its most unusual smartphones in years. New leaks attributed to tipster Digital Chat Station suggest the company is testing a wide-screen device, reportedly called the Oppo Reno X, with a massive battery of up to 8,000mAh, a MediaTek Dimensity 9600M chipset and two 200MP cameras. If the leaked details hold true, this unusual handset could redefine what a large-format Android phone looks like.
Oppo Reno X leak: what the latest report claims

The latest Oppo Reno X leak comes from Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster on Weibo who has shared the full specifications of what he describes as an Oppo wide-screen phone in its engineering-prototype stage. The standout claim is battery capacity: up to 8,000mAh, a figure that would place this phone among the largest batteries ever fitted to a mainstream flagship-style device. Notably, the same tipster had earlier suggested a 7,000mAh cell, so the revised figure represents a significant upgrade in the leak narrative.
According to the leaked report, the handset would be powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600M chipset. On the camera front, the device is said to carry a triple rear camera setup including two 200MP sensors — identified as Samsung’s ISOCELL HPE and HP5 — alongside a 50MP ultra-wide camera, with one of the 200MP units reportedly serving as a periscope telephoto with optical image stabilisation.
The wide-screen Oppo Reno X display stands out

Perhaps the most unusual aspect of the rumoured phone is its display. The leak claims a 6.35-inch flat panel with a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio — far wider than the tall, narrow displays that dominate today’s smartphone market. The panel is said to be an 8T LTPO unit with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, which would make the device a strong pick for video playback and gaming.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav, sharing the details on X, also mentioned a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for the device. Previous leaks have separately pointed to dual stereo speakers, a vapour cooling chamber and Android 17-based ColorOS out of the box. Oppo itself has not confirmed any of these specifications.
Dual 200MP cameras: what Samsung sensors could mean

If accurate, the dual 200MP camera setup would be a first for the brand. The two high-resolution sensors are said to be Samsung’s ISOCELL HPE and HP5, though the leak does not specify which handles the main wide duties and which powers the periscope zoom. A 200MP periscope telephoto would be a notable addition, giving the phone serious long-range zoom credentials alongside its 50MP ultra-wide camera.
Camera has always been a Reno-series strength, and pairing two 200MP sensors with a flagship-grade Dimensity chip would push the Oppo Reno X firmly into premium territory — assuming the engineering prototype survives to production with its hardware intact.
Oppo Reno X launch timeline and expected price

Neither Digital Chat Station nor other tipsters have shared a firm launch date. Earlier reports suggested the wide-screen Oppo phone could debut in China in Q1 2027, possibly alongside the rumoured Oppo Find N7 foldable. As for pricing, there is no reliable information yet; positioning above the standard Reno lineup would be expected given the flagship chipset and camera hardware.
It is worth stressing that all of this remains unconfirmed. Oppo has not announced the Reno X name, and details concern an engineering prototype — the final specifications, design and even the marketing name could change before launch.
Why the Oppo Reno X leak matters

The Oppo Reno X leak is interesting because it shows Oppo experimenting beyond the safe playbook: a genuinely wide 16:9 display, an 8,000mAh battery in a 6.35-inch body and a dual 200MP camera array. For Pakistani buyers, where Oppo’s Reno series already enjoys strong recognition, a wide-format phone with exceptional battery life could find a real audience among media consumers and gamers.
Until Oppo speaks officially, treat every detail as a leak. We will update this story as new information about the Oppo Reno X emerges.
