Editorial Policy

About this policy

UrduPro publishes news, explainers, prices and practical guides for readers in Pakistan. This page explains how we choose, check, write and update what we publish, so you can judge how far to rely on it.

Who is accountable

UrduPro is edited by the UrduPro editorial team, who is responsible for what appears on the site. You can reach the editor at bibip7507@gmail.com. Our stories are published under desk bylines (for example, UrduPro Business Desk) rather than individual names. Each desk page explains what that desk covers and how it works.

What we publish

  • News: reports on events and announcements, based on official statements, documents and named sources.
  • Explainers and analysis: articles that explain why something matters. These are labelled as explainers or analysis where the difference is not obvious.
  • Utility pages: prices, rates, schedules, results and package details that we update regularly.
  • Guides and profiles: background pieces such as biographies and how-to articles.

How we check facts

  • Numbers such as fuel prices, exchange rates, tax slabs, package prices and result dates are taken from the official source where one exists (for example, OGRA or Petroleum Division notifications, FBR, SBP, PTA, the relevant education board, or the operator’s own website). We link to the source where we can.
  • We do not present rumour or unconfirmed claims as fact. If a story is developing, we say what is confirmed and what is not.
  • Where we rely on another outlet’s reporting, we say so and link to it.
  • Before publishing, an editor checks that headlines match the content and that figures, dates and names are consistent throughout the article, including any FAQ section.

Original reporting and use of other sources

We aim to add something of our own to each article: a clearer explanation, a comparison table, a calculator, an official document or an interview. When an article is based mainly on another outlet’s report, we credit and link to that outlet. We do not copy other publishers’ text.

Dates and updates

Articles show a published time. Pages that change over time, such as price and rate pages, also show an Updated time. We update these pages on working days, and we note when figures are unchanged because of a weekend or public holiday. Substantial changes to an article are described in an update note.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI tools to help with tasks such as research, summarising, outlining, drafting or translation. AI tools can make mistakes, so every article is reviewed and edited by a human editor before it is published, and the editor is responsible for its accuracy. We do not publish AI-generated images as if they were photographs of real people or real events. Where an illustration is generated or symbolic, we say so.

Images and media

We use photographs and graphics that we created, that are licensed to us, or that we are otherwise permitted to use, and we credit the source where required. If you believe we have used your work without permission, contact us at bibip7507@gmail.com and we will review it promptly.

Independence, advertising and sponsored content

Advertising helps pay for the site but does not decide what we report or how we describe it. Any sponsored or paid content is clearly labelled as such and kept distinct from editorial content.

Financial, legal and health information

Information about prices, taxes, investments, prize bonds, legal rules or health is provided for general information. It is not personal financial, legal or medical advice. Check the official source or a qualified professional before acting on it.

Privacy, sensitive reporting and fairness

We do not publish private personal information, private images or allegations without sufficient basis. We take extra care with stories involving children, victims of crime and people who are not public figures. We aim to give people a fair chance to respond to serious claims about them.

Corrections, feedback and tips

If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. See our Corrections Policy. To send a correction, a news tip or feedback, email bibip7507@gmail.com or use the Contact page.
