China’s Geely Auto has formally entered Pakistan. The Geely Pakistan launch, delivered through Bestway Group, was unveiled at a launch event in Islamabad, with three new-energy models shown: the compact electric hatchback EX2, the electric SUV EX5, and the Starray new-energy SUV. Bestway Automotive will act as Geely’s sole authorised distributor in Pakistan, handling sales and after-sales service.
For Pakistani car buyers, the Geely Pakistan launch adds one of China’s largest carmakers to a market where electric and hybrid models are no longer a niche curiosity. The cars will arrive first as imports, while Bestway prepares a Karachi plant for local assembly. What buyers cannot do yet is buy on price, because no Pakistan prices, booking dates or final local specifications have been announced.
Three models lead the Geely Pakistan launch

The Geely Pakistan launch line-up is deliberately broad. The EX2 is a small, fully electric hatchback built for city driving and low running costs. The EX5 is a fully electric compact SUV for families who need more space. The Starray is a new-energy SUV that pairs electric driving with a petrol engine for longer trips, suiting buyers not yet ready to rely entirely on charging.
Launch coverage is not fully consistent on the Starray’s exact badge, with some reports listing it as the Starray EM-i and others as the Starray EM-R. Buyers should treat the Starray name as confirmed and check the exact variant badge on Geely Pakistan’s official listing before booking.
Bestway’s role is as important as the cars themselves. A new brand in Pakistan lives or dies on its dealer and service network, and Bestway Automotive says it will run sales, service and parts through its own network, with a nationwide dealership plan, online booking and financing through United Bank Limited. A charging network is also planned through Bestway Renewable Technologies, against a national backdrop covered in our Pakistan EV charging stations plan. Buyers should still check, in writing, where their nearest service point will be before they pay a booking amount.
Local assembly in Karachi: imports first, then CKD

The Geely Pakistan launch will begin with imported vehicles. Bestway is preparing a 24.71-acre facility at Port Qasim in Karachi for completely knocked-down, or CKD, assembly, with capacity of up to 25,000 vehicles a year. The aim, as reported, is to have locally assembled Geely vehicles on Pakistani roads next year.
That sequence matters for price. Imported cars carry heavy duties in Pakistan, while locally assembled cars can be priced far more competitively, provided the plant, parts supply and dealer network are genuinely ready. Bestway acquired Al-Haj Automotive, giving it an existing assembly plant, operating licences and an experienced local team, and it already owns Bestway Cement, Pakistan’s largest cement producer.
The scale of the parent companies is worth stating plainly. Bestway Group, founded in London in 1976, now employs more than 63,000 people, with annual revenue of about $7.9 billion, and it says it has invested more than $350 million in Pakistan in recent years. Geely Holding Group, founded in 1986, sold about 4.12 million vehicles globally in 2025, of which 2.29 million were new-energy vehicles, and its portfolio includes Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Zeekr and Lynk & Co. Size alone does not guarantee a good ownership experience in Pakistan; that will be decided by service, parts and resale value over the next two years.
Geely EX2, EX5 and Starray: international specifications, clearly labelled

No final Pakistan specifications have been confirmed, so the figures below are international specifications reported alongside the launch. They are a guide to what each car is, not a promise of what the Pakistani version will offer.
The EX2, in its international form, uses a 39.4 kWh battery, 114 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque, with a claimed WLTP range of about 325 km and DC fast charging in about 20 to 25 minutes. The EX5 is bigger and more powerful: a 68.39 kWh battery, 215 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, a claimed WLTP range of about 450 km and DC fast charging in around 20 minutes. The Starray, in range-extended form, pairs a 1.5-litre engine with an 18.4 kWh battery and a motor producing 215 horsepower and 262 Nm of torque, with an electric-only range of about 89 km on the WLTP cycle.
What is not announced yet, and what buyers should check

The Geely Pakistan launch leaves the questions most buyers actually ask still unanswered: prices, booking dates, final Pakistan specifications, variant lists and delivery timelines have all not been announced. A reported warranty proposal of up to six years or 150,000 km on the vehicle and eight years on the battery and motor has appeared in launch coverage, but it is a proposal, not yet a final published warranty, and should not be treated as a contract term until Geely Pakistan publishes it.
Before paying any booking amount, buyers should ask, in writing, for the official Pakistan price, the exact variant and battery size, the published warranty terms for both vehicle and battery, home-charger support and plug type, service coverage in their city, spare-parts availability, and the booking and cancellation terms.
Pakistan’s passenger car sales reached 155,631 units in the last financial year, up 39 percent year on year, and Chinese brands have been expanding steadily as buyers look for lower running costs, under the framework set out in our Auto Policy 2026-31 guide. Geely’s success will depend less on launch-day headlines than on pricing the cars sensibly, opening service points on time, keeping parts in stock, and building resale confidence.
The Geely Pakistan launch is therefore best read as a beginning, not a verdict. Whether Pakistani buyers get a genuinely competitive electric option at a fair price will be decided by the announcements that have not yet been made, and UrduPro will update this story when prices, bookings and official Pakistan specifications are published. Until then, anyone searching for a Geely EX2 Pakistan price or a Geely EX5 Pakistan price will find only speculation, not an official figure.
