Today is the last day — the UHS portal closes at 5 PM

Today, Friday 6 November 2026, is the last day to apply for an MBBS seat at a private medical college in Punjab. The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore opened the centralised online portal on 23 October, and it closes this evening at 5:00 pm. After that, the form link stops accepting submissions — there is no late window, no manual submission and no second chance in this session.
That makes today a deadline, not a reminder to file away for later. Around 4,500 MBBS seats are on offer across 34 private medical colleges, and every one of them is filled through this single UHS system. If you have been waiting to see how the merit lists shape up, or putting the form off until the last evening, the waiting ends today. Submit well before the final hour: admission portals slow down badly on closing day, and a form that is still uploading at 5:00 pm is a form that never went in.
Who can apply

The bar for private MBBS admission is the same one UHS set when the window opened. Candidates need at least 60 per cent marks in FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent qualification, and at least 55 per cent in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT). The subject rule is also fixed: Biology and Chemistry, along with a pass in either Physics or Mathematics.
Meeting the minimum does not guarantee a seat — it only gets the application into the merit pool. With tens of thousands of students clearing the MDCAT every year and public-sector seats limited, private colleges absorb a large share of aspiring doctors, and the centralised UHS system gives every applicant one transparent shot at the merit list instead of dozens of separate college-by-college processes. Candidates from all provinces of Pakistan, as well as overseas Pakistanis, may apply under the prescribed criteria.
The seats on offer

Punjab has 34 private medical colleges offering around 4,500 MBBS seats for the 2026-27 session, and 18 private dental colleges with about 1,100 BDS seats. The MBBS seats are the ones closing today. The BDS seats run on a completely separate timeline — applications for BDS open on 18 December 2026 and close on 1 January 2027 — so dental aspirants should not confuse the two windows, and MBBS applicants should not assume the BDS dates give them more time.
Admissions are conducted through a centralised online system under the Punjab government’s admission policy for the 2026-27 session. That matters for applicants: one form, one portal, one merit list. College preferences are ranked inside the same application, so the order in which you list your colleges is part of the application itself — put your real first choice first.
How to apply before 5 PM

Applications go through the UHS portal at privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk. Register an account, fill in your academic details, upload the required documents — including your MDCAT result and academic certificates — rank your college preferences, and pay the Rs 2,000 non-refundable processing fee. Then submit, and save or print the confirmation the portal gives you. That confirmation, or its reference number, is your proof of submission if anything is disputed later.
Three things to get right before you click submit. First, check every field twice — a wrong CNIC number, a misspelt name or a wrong MDCAT roll number can cost you the seat even if your merit is good enough. Second, make sure your documents are clear and legible before uploading; a blurred certificate is the most common avoidable reason a form gets held up. Third, do not leave the fee payment to the last minutes — the fee must be paid as part of the submission, and payment channels also slow down on closing day.
What happens after today

Once the portal closes, UHS will prepare the merit lists. The first MBBS selection list is scheduled for 18 November 2026, and all merit and selection lists will be published on the UHS website. Selected candidates will then follow the instructions of the college they are allotted — fee submission and document verification happen on the college’s own timeline, so watch both the UHS website and the allotted college’s notices after the 18th.
For BDS aspirants, the dates to remember are different: applications from 18 December 2026 to 1 January 2027, with the first BDS selection list on 13 January 2027, through the separate portal at privatebds.uhs.edu.pk.
Do not wait for an extension

Admission schedules can be amended, and UHS has said the schedule is subject to any directive from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council or the Punjab government. But no extension has been announced, and none should be assumed. Treat 5:00 pm today as final. If the portal shows different terms when you log in, the portal prevails — check the official UHS website before taking any step, and do not rely on any third-party summary, including this one, as the final word. The safe move is simple: apply now, while the portal is still open.
