The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore has opened online applications for MBBS admissions to private medical colleges in Punjab for the 2026-27 academic session, starting Friday, October 23. The last date to submit applications is November 6, and the first selection list will be published on November 18.
For thousands of students who sat the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) this year, the clock has officially started ticking. Admissions will be conducted through a centralised online system under the Punjab government’s admission policy for the 2026-27 session, and UHS has asked candidates not to wait until the last day. With the UHS private MBBS admissions 2026 schedule now live, students should get their documents ready early.
UHS Private Medical Colleges MBBS Admissions: Key Dates
According to the admission schedule issued by UHS, online applications for MBBS programmes at private medical colleges opened on October 23, 2026, and will close on November 6, 2026. The first selection list will be announced on November 18.
For the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programmes at private dental colleges, the timeline is different: applications will be received from December 18, 2026, to January 1, 2027, and the first BDS selection list will be issued on January 13, 2027.
UHS has set up separate online portals for the two programmes. MBBS applicants can apply at privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk, while BDS applicants can submit their applications through privatebds.uhs.edu.pk. All merit and selection lists will also be published on the UHS website.
4,500 MBBS Seats Across 34 Private Medical Colleges
Punjab has 34 private medical colleges offering around 4,500 MBBS seats, and 18 private dental colleges with 1,100 BDS seats. Eligible candidates from all provinces of Pakistan, as well as overseas Pakistanis, may apply subject to the prescribed criteria.
That seat count matters. With tens of thousands of students clearing the MDCAT each year and public-sector seats remaining limited, private colleges absorb a large share of aspiring doctors — and the centralised UHS system means applicants get one fair, transparent shot at the merit list instead of navigating dozens of college-by-college processes.
Eligibility: 60% FSc, 55% MDCAT for MBBS
To be eligible for these UHS private MBBS admissions, candidates must secure at least 60% marks in FSc pre-medical or an equivalent qualification. For the MDCAT, the bar is set at 55% for MBBS admission and 50% for BDS.
The subjects rule is also clear: applicants must have studied Biology and Chemistry, along with a pass in either Physics or Mathematics. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee a seat — it only gets the application into the merit pool.
How Merit Is Calculated for Private MBBS Admissions
Merit for the 2026-27 UHS private MBBS admissions will be worked out on a fixed formula: 10% weight for matriculation (or equivalent) marks, 40% for FSc pre-medical (or equivalent) marks, and 50% for the MDCAT score.
Students applying to private medical colleges will face no limit on the number of preferences they can select, so candidates are advised to list every college they are willing to join. UHS has advised applicants to check the fee structures, locations and available facilities of the colleges before applying, since private college fees vary widely.
What Happens After Selection
Selected candidates will have three working days to deposit their admission fees and join their respective colleges after a selection list is published. Missing that window means losing the seat to the next candidate on the merit list.
Students should keep their documents ready — CNIC/B-form, FSc and matric result cards, MDCAT result, domicile and photographs — before the November 6 deadline, so nothing stalls at the final step of the online form.
