JazzCash Q3 Profits Jump 297% to Rs8.9 Billion as Revenue Hits Rs43.4 Billion

JazzCash Q3 profits rose 296.8 per cent year on year to Rs8.9 billion in the three months to 30 September 2026, one of the biggest profit jumps Pakistan’s fintech sector has seen. The financial services business, which covers JazzCash, Mobilink Bank and JazzSure Insurance, earned revenue of Rs43.4 billion in the quarter, up 67.6 per cent on the same period last year, and net profit stood at Rs6.8 billion. The results, announced on 7 November, show Pakistan’s biggest mobile wallet growing fast on two fronts at once: more people paying through it, and far more small loans being issued through it.

The profit jump was driven by lending and transaction income. Credit-related revenue rose 60.3 per cent to Rs26.1 billion, while payments and transaction revenue climbed 67.8 per cent to Rs9.73 billion. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the financial services arm more than doubled, rising 137.2 per cent to Rs13.84 billion.

Lending is now the biggest engine of the business. The gross loan portfolio reached Rs134.6 billion at the end of September, up 51.9 per cent in a year, and JazzCash issued more than 230,000 nano-loans every day during the quarter. Those tiny, short-term loans, often just a few thousand rupees each, add up to a large book when issued at that scale, and they carry the high margins that help explain why profits grew so much faster than revenue. Rs6.9 trillion moved through JazzCash in three months

The sheer scale of money flowing through the platform is striking. Gross transaction value jumped 79.2 per cent to Rs6.9 trillion in the quarter, of which Rs3.2 trillion was chargeable transaction value. JazzCash served 65 million branchless banking accounts, including 30.4 million active users, up 15.6 per cent on last year. Its merchant network reached about two million outlets, with 957,000 active merchants, a rise of 121.9 per cent.

That makes JazzCash one of the largest financial platforms in the country by users, and the growth in merchants shows how far digital payments have spread beyond the big cities into small shops and street vendors.

JazzWorld’s wider quarter: Rs144.9 billion in revenue

The results sit inside a strong quarter for the wider JazzWorld group. Group revenue rose 26.6 per cent to Rs144.9 billion, with EBITDA up 23.9 per cent to Rs65.2 billion. Digital services brought in Rs58.1 billion, up 47.9 per cent, and now account for 40.1 per cent of all group revenue, while telecom and infrastructure revenue grew 15.5 per cent to Rs86.8 billion.

The group had 76.4 million mobile customers, including 59.5 million on 4G and 5G, and average monthly data use per customer rose 11.7 per cent to 8.4GB. Its digital brands kept growing too: SIMOSA reached 36.3 million active users, Tamasha 33.9 million, the premium brand ROX 3.3 million, and FikrFree served 16.8 million policyholders. JazzWorld raised its quarterly investment by 68.9 per cent to Rs20.9 billion, most of it going into telecom and infrastructure, including the 5G rollout, with more than 1,000 5G sites now installed. Chief executive Aamir Ibrahim said digital services now generate around 40 per cent of the company’s revenue. The group is also pressing ahead with the network build-out behind its $1 billion 5G investment plan: https://urdupro.info/jazz-1-billion-investment-5g-network-expansion/ — and its AI work was recently recognised with a regional award: https://urdupro.info/jazzworld-wins-best-ai-automation-solution-asia-telecom-review-2026/

The FIA gambling crackdown hanging over the numbers

The record quarter comes with an uncomfortable question mark. The Federal Investigation Agency recently uncovered a digital gambling syndicate worth Rs120 billion, with Rs119.93 billion routed through local digital payment channels. Just five branchless banking collection accounts processed Rs8.586 billion across 10.5 million transactions.

After the discovery, JazzCash shut down or suspended more than 100 aggregator accounts, and JazzCash and Easypaisa have suspended payment collection services for all payment aggregators on the FIA’s instructions over illegal online gambling and suspicious transactions. When TechJuice asked JazzCash for a formal explanation, the company gave no response. Read the TechJuice report here: https://www.techjuice.pk/jazzcash-posts-297-surge-in-q3-profits-but-did-gambling-money-fuel-this-growth/ — and the wider JazzWorld results here: https://pkrevenue.com/jazzworld-revenue-rises-26-6-to-rs144-9bn-in-q3-2026/

It is important to be clear about what is and is not known. Nothing published so far establishes a link between the gambling syndicate’s money and JazzCash’s reported profits, and the profit figures above are the company’s own reported results. But the crackdown is real, it has already cut off a major payment channel for online gambling platforms, and sources told TechJuice the sudden closure of the aggregator accounts will significantly damage JazzCash’s earnings in the coming quarters. The next set of results will show whether the record run can continue without them.
