Shehbaz Sharif Welcomes Gauth AI Initiative, 4,000 Free Subscriptions Announced for Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday welcomed a landmark initiative by Gauth AI to support students and teachers in Pakistan through artificial intelligence, pledging that the government would provide all possible resources to Daanish schools as part of his government’s drive to bring quality AI-led education to every corner of the country.

Addressing a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony between the Ministry of Education and Gauth AI in Islamabad, the prime minister termed the agreement a significant step towards expanding educational opportunities and praised the technology company for gifting 4,000 free subscriptions to Pakistani students and teachers, calling the Gauth AI Pakistan partnership a milestone for classroom technology in the country.

“There is no dearth of resources, and the government will provide all possible resources to the Daanish schools,” the prime minister said, describing the Daanish Schools network as a magnificent institution offering free education and reaffirming his government’s resolve to create new opportunities for the younger generation through artificial intelligence.

4,000 Free Gauth AI Subscriptions for Pakistan

Under the MoU, the first 4,000 subscriptions gifted by Gauth AI to Pakistan will help students and teachers benefit from modern educational tools. Of these, 1,000 subscriptions would be allocated to teachers associated with the government’s Daanish Schools initiative. Under the Gauth AI Pakistan rollout, the Ministry of Education will identify the beneficiary students and teachers.

Gauth is an artificial intelligence-powered study companion that helps students solve academic problems and understand concepts through step-by-step explanations. Students can type a question or upload a photograph of a problem to receive assistance, particularly in mathematics and science subjects such as physics and chemistry. Its additional study tools include AI tutoring, practice questions and revision support.

The prime minister thanked Gauth AI, ByteDance and TikTok for their cooperation, saying the partnership would unlock new opportunities for students, teachers and young people across Pakistan.

Pakistan First Country After US to Get Paid Gauth AI Versions

Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja told the ceremony that the initiative reflected the prime minister’s vision of promoting information technology-led development and improving the education sector through modern digital solutions.

She said TikTok had made its AI technology available for Pakistan, while the paid versions of Gauth AI were being launched in the country — making Pakistan the first country after the United States to receive this facility, and marking the international debut of the Gauth AI Pakistan programme.

Regional Director of Global Public Policy at ByteDance Ltd, Maria Kohan, said technology had the potential to inspire creativity, unlock opportunities and transform lives, particularly in the field of education.

Digital Pakistan and AI Education Vision

Sharif said the initiative would contribute to the country’s progress and prosperity, adding that the government was committed to scientific and digital reforms in education as part of its Digital Pakistan vision.

The government has increasingly positioned artificial intelligence as a central pillar of its education policy, with recent months seeing several technology partnerships aimed at bringing digital tools into classrooms. The Gauth AI Pakistan partnership follows that pattern, combining free access for teachers in public-sector Daanish Schools with a commercial launch of the platform’s paid versions nationwide.

Education experts say access to AI-powered study tools could meaningfully supplement classroom instruction, particularly in subjects where schools face teacher shortages or uneven teaching quality. The allocation of 1,000 subscriptions to Daanish Schools teachers suggests the pilot will first be measured in public institutions before any wider rollout.

What Happens Next

Officials at the ceremony did not announce a timeline for distributing the 4,000 free subscriptions, but the MoU establishes the framework through which the Ministry of Education will identify beneficiary students and teachers. The commercial launch of Gauth AI’s paid versions in Pakistan is expected to follow, giving the company its second market worldwide after the United States under the Gauth AI Pakistan initiative.

The development places Pakistan at the front of the line for AI education tools in the region, a point the government is likely to emphasise as it pushes its Digital Pakistan agenda in the months ahead.
