Multan Bosan Road Crash: Five Young Men Killed as Speeding Car Hits Divider, Bursts Into Flames
Five young men lost their lives in the early hours of Monday when a speeding car crashed on Bosan Road in Multan and caught fire, in one of the deadliest single-vehicle road tragedies the city has seen this year. The Multan Bosan Road accident happened near Sabzazar Metro Station, where a Toyota Corolla travelling at excessive speed veered out of control, smashed into a road divider and then into the boundary wall of a vacant plot before bursting into flames.
According to rescue officials, all five occupants of the vehicle died at the scene. The bodies were later shifted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan for postmortem examinations and legal formalities, after which they will be handed over to their families.
How the Multan Bosan Road Accident Unfolded
The Multan Bosan Road accident took place at around 4:00am on Monday, October 19, 2026, when traffic on the busy corridor was at its lightest. Rescue 1122 officials said the driver lost control of the Corolla because of excessive speed. The car first rammed into the central road divider, then ploughed through the boundary wall along the road and ended up in an empty plot, where it overturned and caught fire, trapping the occupants inside.
A passerby spotted the burning vehicle and alerted the emergency control room at approximately 4:15am. Rescue teams rushed to the site and initiated emergency operations, but none of the occupants could be saved. Officials said the impact was so severe that the victims had suffered fatal head injuries, and the fire that followed left the car completely gutted.
Victims Identified as Shujaabad Residents
Three of the five victims have been identified as Muzammil, 23, Yasir, 22, and Ramazan, 28 — all residents of Shujaabad, a town near Multan. The identities of the remaining two men had not been established in the initial reports, though rescue officials estimated their ages at around 24 and 25.
Hospital sources said the bodies would be released to relatives after postmortem examinations and the completion of required legal procedures, while efforts to identify the two remaining victims were continuing. The news of the Multan car crash has sent shockwaves through the victims’ hometown, where grieving families were preparing to receive the bodies for burial.
Rescue 1122’s Emergency Response
The scale of the emergency response underscored the severity of the Bosan Road car fire. Rescue 1122 deployed two fire tenders, four ambulances, a motorcycle ambulance and a dedicated rescue vehicle to the scene. Firefighters battled the blaze engulfing the wreckage while rescue personnel recovered the bodies from the mangled remains of the car.
Officials confirmed that the operation required both firefighting and recovery teams working together at the crash site. The car was left badly damaged — reduced to a charred shell after the fire — and was eventually cleared from the plot by the rescue teams.
Speeding, a Deadly Habit on Punjab’s Roads
Officials have attributed the Multan Bosan Road accident to over-speeding, though the reports did not establish a numerical speed for the vehicle, and no other vehicle was reported to be involved. Police said they would examine the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the precise cause of the incident.
The tragedy has once again highlighted the dangers of reckless driving on Punjab’s busy roads. Rescue 1122 data cited in recent reporting recorded 43,160 road traffic crashes in May alone, resulting in 23,013 serious injuries and 434 deaths across the province. Bosan Road is one of Multan’s major urban corridors and carries heavy traffic throughout the day, but as this accident shows, low-traffic early-morning hours can tempt drivers into excessive speed with devastating consequences.
Rescue officials routinely urge motorists to observe speed limits, remain attentive while driving and take extra precautions on busy roads — a plea that investigators hope will carry new weight after Monday’s heartbreaking loss of five young lives on Bosan Road.
