Samsung Galaxy A08 Launched in India — Pakistan Price & Launch Expected

Samsung has a new budget champion on the shelves, and Pakistan might be next in line. The Samsung Galaxy A08 — the company’s most affordable A-series phone of 2026 — has officially launched in India this week, bringing a giant 6,000mAh battery, a smooth 90Hz display and an unusually generous software promise to the entry-level segment.

The launch completes the phone’s slow march across Asia. After debuting in Malaysia a few weeks ago, the Galaxy A08 is now on sale in India through Samsung’s own stores and retail partners. Pakistan is one of the few Asian markets where the phone has not arrived yet — and reports suggest it could be the next stop.

Galaxy A08 price in India and expected Pakistan price

Samsung has kept things simple in India: a single 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant priced at ₹18,499 (about $195). The Galaxy A08 comes in three colours — Dark Blue, Silver and Green.

For Pakistani buyers, the Malaysian launch offers the best hint of what to expect. There, the same model debuted at RM 899, which works out to roughly Rs 61,000. Going by that figure, a Samsung Galaxy A08 Pakistan price in the low Rs 60,000s looks the most likely outcome — though no official Pakistan price or launch date has been announced yet.

The biggest upgrade over last year’s Galaxy A07 is the battery. The A08 packs a 6,000mAh cell — up from 5,000mAh — which Samsung says delivers about 22% longer video playback than the previous generation. Charging stays at 25W wired, and Samsung’s own spec sheet lists around 116 minutes for a full charge.

The 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD display runs at a 90Hz refresh rate with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and a small U-shaped notch at the top houses the 8MP selfie camera. Inside, the MediaTek Helio G99+ chipset (built on a 6nm process) handles the heavy lifting, paired with 4GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. Samsung’s own benchmarks claim up to 84% faster single-core CPU performance and 60% faster graphics than the Galaxy A06 — company figures rather than independent tests.

Cameras are modest but sensible for the price: a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, a 2MP depth sensor for portraits, and an 8MP front camera. The phone also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint reader built into the power button, dual-band Wi-Fi and even a 3.5mm headphone jack — a genuine rarity in 2026.

Six years of Android updates on the Galaxy A08

Perhaps the most surprising part of the package is software support. The Galaxy A08 runs Android 17 with One UI 9 out of the box, and Samsung promises six generations of Android upgrades plus six years of security patches. That kind of long-term support is almost unheard of in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment in India, and it means the phone could stay secure and current well into the 2030s — a detail confirmed in Samsung’s official announcement.

The package also includes some AI touches, such as Google’s Circle to Search, bringing basic AI features down to a much more accessible price point.

Galaxy A08 Pakistan launch: what buyers should know

All signs point to a Pakistan launch — eventually. Samsung’s A-series budget phones have traditionally done well in Pakistan, and the A08’s combination of a big battery, long software support and Samsung’s brand name should appeal to buyers looking for a reliable everyday phone under Rs 65,000. Full specifications are also listed on GSMArena’s launch report.

One caveat for Pakistani buyers: the Galaxy A08 is a 4G-only phone. With 5G expanding to more Pakistani cities, buyers who want future-proof connectivity may want to compare it against 5G alternatives in our mobiles directory instead. And anyone planning to bring the phone in from abroad should remember to register it through PTA’s mobile registration system.

No launch date for Pakistan has been confirmed yet. But with India and Malaysia done, the wait is unlikely to be long.
