OneOffice and ZIEL Global Bring Affordable Cloud Office Suite to Pakistan

Islamabad: Canadian software company OneOffice (ZeGenie Inc.) has signed a strategic commercial agreement with Pakistan-based IT firm ZIEL Global to bring an affordable, user-hosted email service and a complete cloud-based office suite to the Pakistani market, a move the companies say could save local businesses hundreds of millions of dollars every year.

The agreement was announced on 30 October 2026 from Montreal and Islamabad. Under the deal, the two companies will jointly introduce domain-specific business email and a full office productivity platform aimed at Pakistani businesses, government institutions and large enterprises that want modern digital tools without depending on expensive foreign subscriptions.

OneOffice is a Montreal-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company that sells an integrated business productivity platform — business email, document editing, file sharing, chat, video calls, project management, ERP and AI-powered services — all inside a single encrypted application, built on what the company describes as its own technology stack. ZIEL Global, a Pakistan-based IT company with an international footprint, will take the platform to the local market.

What the OneOffice–ZIEL Global partnership covers

The centrepiece of the deal is choice. Unlike the standard model, where email and documents sit on servers owned by a global vendor, OneOffice lets customers host services on the cloud infrastructure of their choosing — including private servers. That gives organisations direct control over data security and keeps the platform aligned with Government of Pakistan policies.

The suite bundles the everyday tools a modern office needs: domain-based business email, collaborative document editing, file sharing, team chat, video calling, project management, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and AI integration. Because everything runs inside one encrypted application, organisations avoid stitching together half a dozen separate subscriptions.

Pakistani firms spend heavily on imported productivity software. Market estimates cited in the announcement suggest Pakistan has millions of domain-based email accounts and office-suite subscriptions in use, with users spending an average of USD 84 per account each year. At those rates, a platform priced well below the global competition could generate savings worth hundreds of millions of US dollars annually across the economy.

Host your data where you want it

For Pakistani organisations, the user-hosted model may be the most significant part of the story. Banks, hospitals, government departments and exporters all handle sensitive data, and keeping that data on infrastructure they control — rather than on overseas servers — has become a regulatory priority in many countries.

OneOffice’s approach lets a company run the whole office suite on its own private cloud while still getting the convenience of a managed SaaS product. The companies describe this as a milestone for Pakistan’s digital transformation: secure, affordable and locally adaptable technology that does not force a trade-off between price and data control.

The same concern has pushed telecom and enterprise customers across the Middle East and Africa toward self-hosted platforms — the very markets where OneOffice already operates, which suggests the model is proven at scale.

Less than half the price of global rivals

OneOffice claims its products cost less than half the price of many global competitors — a pricing gap that matters enormously in a market where every dollar of software licensing is paid in foreign exchange. For a mid-sized Pakistani company with a few hundred employees, switching office suites could cut a meaningful line item from the annual budget.

The company already serves governments and large enterprises in Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and South Africa, working through established channel partners including STC, Zain, Vodacom, SITA, Telkom, Ethiopian Telecom, MTN and Djezzy — a footprint that gives the Pakistan push real credibility.

The agreement was facilitated by Faisal Abro, Consul General of Pakistan in Montreal, as part of a broader push to attract international technology companies into Pakistan’s digital ecosystem. Through the collaboration, OneOffice and ZIEL Global say they aim to empower Pakistani businesses, government institutions and enterprises with secure, cost-effective and modern digital workplace solutions.

The deal lands at a busy moment for Pakistan’s technology sector. Earlier this week, Google’s AI growth lead addressed Pakistani founders at an Endeavor Pakistan session on how artificial intelligence is rewriting the rules of growth for startups — a reminder of how fast the country’s digital economy is moving. If the partnership delivers on its price and data-control promises, local companies will finally have a genuinely affordable alternative to imported office suites.
