Poco X8S Launches Globally: Compact 6.35-Inch Phone With Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 100W Charging From $399

Poco has launched the Poco X8S for global markets, a compact 6.35-inch smartphone that pairs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset with a 6,330mAh battery and 100W fast charging, at an early-bird price of $399. The Poco X8S was announced by Poco Global on 25 October 2026 and is already trending among Pakistani buyers searching for the brand’s newest release. What makes it genuinely interesting is its body: independent analysis shows it matches the flagship Xiaomi 17’s dimensions to the millimetre, yet costs less than half the price.

This handset is the fifth model in the Poco X8 series, joining the X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max, X8 and X8 Power, and it is positioned as the compact choice in the line-up. For buyers who want flagship-style hardware in a smaller frame without paying flagship money, this handset looks like one of the most compelling releases of the season. Here is everything confirmed so far about the Poco X8S price, specs and availability.

It measures 151.1 x 71.8 x 8.06mm and weighs 187g, numbers that are identical to the Xiaomi 17, a phone that launched in Europe at €999. It has not been officially described as a reworked Xiaomi 17, but the overlap in the three body dimensions, the 6,330mAh battery capacity, the 1.18mm display bezels, the 3,500-nit peak brightness and the IP68 dust and water resistance rating is too close to ignore.

Up front sits a 6.35-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2,656 x 1,220 pixels. The refresh rate adapts between 1Hz and 120Hz to save power, and the panel supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Poco quotes a peak brightness of 3,500 nits from its own testing. The phone also carries an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the display, an IR blaster, NFC, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G connectivity, and it runs Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 on top. For anyone who has handled recent compact flagships, it should feel immediately familiar.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 performance

Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, an upper mid-range chip built on a 4nm process running at up to 2.8GHz. It is the same silicon found in some of this year’s best-regarded mid-range phones, and it should handle gaming, multitasking and on-device AI features without breaking a sweat. The device appeared on Geekbench and in certification databases in Singapore, Europe and Thailand ahead of launch, confirming the chipset and up to 12GB of RAM.

There is one detail worth knowing before you buy. Poco’s own specifications page lists the phone with LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage — both older generations than the LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 parts used in current flagships — while some launch coverage reported the newer parts. Poco has not clarified the discrepancy, so buyers comparing the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 phone against rivals should check the fine print on the retail listing in their region.

Triple cameras led by a 50MP main sensor

The phone carries a triple rear camera setup. The headline act is a 50MP main sensor — the Light Fusion 800 with a 1/1.55-inch size and optical image stabilisation — joined by a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide unit. A 20MP camera up front handles selfies and video calls. The inclusion of a proper 2.5x telephoto at this price is notable, since most rivals at $399 settle for a depth or macro filler lens.

Camera performance in the real world will depend on Poco’s image processing, which has historically been a mixed bag. But on paper, its specs give it one of the more versatile camera arrays in the upper mid-range segment, and the OIS on the main sensor should help in low light. 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W charging

Battery life may be the phone’s strongest card. The 6,330mAh silicon-carbon battery is unusually large for a 6.35-inch phone — silicon-carbon chemistry packs more charge into the same space than conventional lithium cells — and it supports 100W wired charging plus 22.5W wired reverse charging. Note that the 100W figure refers to the adapter’s rated output; the phone’s actual intake will vary, and wireless charging is not listed.

The combination of a big silicon-carbon cell, an efficient 4nm chipset and an LTPO display that drops to 1Hz when idle should translate into genuinely strong endurance. Poco has form here: the brand’s recent mid-range phones are among the battery-life leaders in their class, and the Poco X8S price makes that endurance accessible to far more buyers.

Poco X8S price, availability and the fine print

The Poco X8S price is set at $399 for the 8GB + 256GB variant and $499 for the 12GB + 512GB model — both early-bird prices, with Poco’s fine print noting that the price varies by platform and region and that VAT and local taxes can change the final figure. Poco has not published the regular prices that will apply after the early-bird window closes.

The phone first appeared for pre-order on Xiaomi’s official Shopee store in Vietnam, where the 8GB + 256GB model is listed at VND 11,500,000 (around $440) and the 12GB + 512GB model at VND 14,000,000 (around $530), with deliveries scheduled between 6 and 9 November and a pair of Redmi Buds 6 Play bundled for early buyers while stocks last. The model number 2609CPC5FG has also surfaced in certification databases in Singapore, Europe and Thailand, pointing to a wider rollout — but an India launch looks uncertain, with no BIS certification sighting so far, and buyers elsewhere should wait for official confirmation.

For Pakistan, Poco has not yet announced local availability or a Pakistan price for the handset. Given the brand’s strong local following and the phone’s aggressive positioning against pricier compact rivals, a Pakistan launch would likely draw heavy interest. Our Infinix GT 30 Pro price and review shows how competitive the local mid-range market already is — it would walk straight into that fight. Full specifications are listed on GSMArena’s Poco X8S spec page, and GSMArena’s launch report has more on the global debut.
