Coke Studio 2027: Lineup, Songs and Latest News
Every year, music fans ask the same question — and in late 2026, the question is louder than ever: what will the next season of the country’s biggest music platform look like? The reason for the excitement is Coke Studio Nu.WAV, a brand-new six-song edition launched in September 2026 that is rewriting the platform’s playbook. With fresh artists, individual track releases and a new generation of producers, Nu.WAV may well be the blueprint for Coke Studio 2027.
The inaugural Nu.WAV edition kicked off on 3 September 2026 with Dil, bringing together Afusic, Zoha Waseem and producer Ali Soomro in a love song about fame’s distractions. Afusic wrote his part about his wife, drawing on the challenges of maintaining a relationship while travelling, while Zoha — trained in classical and ghazal singing — answered from a female perspective. The second release, Rangeen (17 September), paired Hasan Raheem and Izz Chughtai with producer Umair over a cheerful, danceable beat with a shehnai outro, its gloomy lyrics contrasting with the vibrant sound. Then on 1 October, Asim Azhar returned to the platform with Maheya — ten years after his breakout Tera Woh Pyar — alongside AARYAN and producer Rovalio. With three more tracks still to come, Nu.WAV blends five newcomers with five returning artists, and producers on the project include Abdullah Kasumbi, Jokhay, Talal Qureshi and Umair.
Coke Studio 2027: What Nu.WAV Tells Us
The format itself is the story. Instead of weekly episodes, songs drop individually — a shift that mirrors how audiences actually consume music in the streaming era. If listeners embrace it, Coke Studio 2027 could adopt the same model, or scale Nu.WAV into a full-fledged season. The platform’s team has said the future format will depend on how this edition is received by audiences in Pakistan and abroad.
Artist-wise, the momentum is undeniable. Afusic’s rise has been remarkable — his breakout Pal Pal has crossed hundreds of millions of streams, topped the Asian Music Chart and found audiences in the UK and Canada. Asim Azhar remains a streaming powerhouse; his 2026 collaboration Aarzu reached No 2 on the Official Asian Music Chart and No 8 on Billboard’s global chart, and his fans recently marked his 13th year in the industry with charity work at SOS Village. Producers like Umair, Rovalio, Talal Qureshi and Jokhay are shaping the new sound. Any future line-up would be expected to mix these names with folk and classical voices in the platform’s classic tradition — the formula that made earlier seasons cultural events.
When Will the Next Season Be Announced?
No official announcement has been made yet. Historically, new seasons are teased in the first half of the year, so fans should watch for news in early 2027. Until then, the remaining Nu.WAV releases will keep the conversation going — and every release is being watched as a hint of the direction the platform takes next. Follow our Coke Studio 2026 coverage and the season review for song-by-song updates, plus Showbiz Pakistan for the latest music news.
Until the official word comes, fans can revisit the classic seasons and the Nu.WAV singles, which remain available on all major streaming platforms and continue to rack up millions of views every week. Industry watchers expect the official teaser to land on the platform’s social channels first, as it has in previous years.
