Motorola has finally taken the covers off the Signature 27, and the wait has delivered a price tag almost nobody expected. The company’s new ultra-premium flagship costs $1,599 in the United States, putting it among the most expensive mainstream smartphones on sale, as Motorola makes its boldest push yet into the very top end of the market.
Motorola first teased the Signature 27 at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in September, and has spent the weeks since revealing its camera, its audio system and its design through teasers and a hands-on video. Now the full picture is out: a 200MP periscope camera, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, a 7,000mAh battery and a display Motorola claims is the brightest it has ever fitted to a phone. Pre-orders open in the US on 19 November, with sales starting on 26 November.
Motorola Signature 27 price and release date

The Motorola Signature 27 price is $1,599 in the United States, where it will sell in a single configuration — 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage — unlocked. Android Headlines confirmed the US price, and reported that pre-orders open on 19 November at Motorola.com, Amazon and Best Buy, with the phone going on sale on 26 November. Shoppers who order from Motorola.com will also receive the new Moto Watch Ultra free, according to Android Police.
In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the phone arrives earlier, on 16 November, at a recommended price of €1,899, although some countries will get it for €1,399. Canada, notably, is on hold for now — Motorola told reporters there is “no availability in Canada at this time”, leaving the door open to a later launch.
The phone is launching in India today as well, but Motorola has not yet confirmed an official India price, with local reports putting estimates between ₹69,999 and ₹99,999. No Pakistan price or launch date has been announced.
Buyers will have two finishes to choose from: Pantone Coal Smoke, with a tactical weave texture, and Pantone Capulet Olive, with a textile-inspired finish. At $1,599, the Signature 27 is $100 dearer than the 512GB Galaxy S26 Ultra was at launch — a clear sign Motorola is no longer competing on value, but on specifications.
A 200MP periscope camera with a first-of-its-kind action sensor

The camera system is the headline act. GSMArena reported the full specifications of the phone, headlined by a 50MP main camera using Sony’s Lytia 910 sensor, with LOFIC technology, an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilisation. Beside it sits a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x “Super Zoom Pro”, plus a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus and a 122-degree field of view.
Motorola has also fitted what it says is the first dedicated EVS — Event Vision Sensor — action sensor on a smartphone. It detects pixel-level changes in light intensity separately from the other cameras and works with the phone’s Action Shot feature to freeze fast-moving subjects.
On video, the rear cameras can record 8K at 30 frames per second and 4K at up to 120 frames per second with Dolby Vision. The 50MP front camera has autofocus and records 4K video.
It is not the only phone betting big on 200MP cameras — the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max debuted with triple 200MP cameras — but Motorola’s combination of a 200MP periscope and a dedicated action sensor is a first.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 power, a 7,000mAh battery and a 12,000-nit display

Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, built on a 2nm process, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Motorola’s ArcticMesh cooling pairs a thermal gel infused with micro-diamonds with an 8,384 sq mm vapour chamber that is 40 percent larger than the one in the original Signature. A Geekbench listing spotted before launch showed a multi-core score of 11,088.
The battery is no longer a mystery either: a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon cell, 35 percent larger than its predecessor’s, with 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, 5W reverse wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wired charging.
The 6.78-inch 1.5K “Extreme AMOLED Duo” display uses a tandem panel with two emissive layers, a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 12,000 nits. Motorola says the panel is up to 34 percent more energy efficient than the original Signature’s screen and lasts up to 121 percent longer.
Android 17, seven years of updates and a rugged premium build

The Signature 27 ships with Android 17, and Motorola promises seven major operating system updates, taking it through to November 2033. It is ready for Google’s Gemini features as they roll out, and carries Motorola’s own Qira assistant too. The phone will also be the first non-Google Pixel handset to support GrapheneOS officially.
The build is as serious as the specifications: an aluminium frame, ceramic and glass construction, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, IP68 and IP69 ratings and MIL-STD-810H compliance. At 162.01 x 77.04 x 7.99mm and 227g, it is noticeably thicker and heavier than the 7mm, 186g original Signature — the price of that much larger battery.
Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen, a six-antenna design and Wi-Fi 8 complete the package. For Motorola, a brand long associated with value, the Signature 27 is a statement: a true ultra-premium flagship, priced to match, with the specifications to justify the argument.
