Petrol Price Cut by Rs5.45 to Rs369.06 From 4 November: Diesel Down Rs3.68 in Pakistan

Petrol is cheaper again in Pakistan from today. In the second price cut within a week, the federal government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs5.45 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs3.68 per litre, effective from 4 November 2026, according to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notification.

With the latest revision, petrol now costs Rs369.06 per litre and high-speed diesel Rs391.52 per litre at the ex-depot level. The cut brings welcome relief for motorists, transporters and businesses after fuel prices had climbed earlier this year.

Under the notification issued by OGRA, petrol drops Rs5.45 per litre — from Rs374.51 to Rs369.06. High-speed diesel falls Rs3.68 per litre — from Rs395.20 to Rs391.52. The revised ex-depot prices are set under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism, which considers international fuel prices and other pricing components, reports say.

Motorists filling up from 4 November pay the new rates across Pakistan, and the price of a litre of petrol has now fallen by nearly Rs9 within eight days.

Second cut in a week — what changed on Monday

This is not the first relief this week. On Monday, the government had already cut diesel by Rs7.76 per litre (to Rs395.20) and petrol by Rs3.40 per litre (to Rs374.51). That revision was the first drop since October and followed the introduction of a revised petroleum pricing formula effective from 2 November, approved by the federal cabinet on 30 October.

The two back-to-back cuts mean the total relief on petrol in just over a week stands at Rs8.85 per litre, while diesel is down Rs11.44 per litre over the same period.

Why prices fell: weaker global crude and daily pricing

Reports attribute the latest cut to weaker international oil prices, with global crude easing about 2 percent to a three-week low in volatile trading. Pakistan has also moved to a daily fuel pricing framework under which OGRA calculates and publishes ex-depot petroleum prices, replacing the older fortnightly system — so pump prices now track global markets more quickly.

The government has additionally introduced a temporary 30-day arrangement for local refineries as part of the pricing overhaul, reports say.

What stays the same: the Rs80-per-litre levy

One part of the price has not changed. The existing petroleum levy of Rs80 per litre remains in place and is separate from the new pricing adjustment, so the full benefit of the global crude dip does not reach the pump.

Analysts will now watch whether the daily pricing framework keeps bringing prices down — or reverses just as quickly if global crude rebounds.
