Launch Context
The Y18 launched in May 2024 as Vivo’s answer to the sub-Rs. 40,000 gaming crowd — the Helio G85 was the strongest chip available at this price, and the 90Hz display with 840 nits brightness was unusually good for the segment. It became a favourite among students and first-time buyers who wanted smooth Free Fire gameplay without spending more.
Display, Camera and Battery
The vivo y18 camera setup is simple: a 50MP main sensor that takes respectable daylight photos, backed by a token auxiliary lens. The 6.56-inch 90Hz display is smooth and bright enough for outdoor use, though HD+ resolution shows its limits on close inspection. The 5,000mAh battery lasts a full day, but 15W charging is slow — a full charge takes around two hours.
Performance
The Helio G85 handles Free Fire, PUBG Mobile (smooth settings) and daily apps comfortably. The 4GB base RAM is adequate, but the 6GB variant is noticeably smoother for multitasking. There is no 5G, and eMMC 5.1 storage is slower than the UFS storage in pricier Vivo phones.
Pros and Cons
- Pros: Helio G85 gaming chip under Rs. 40,000; 90Hz bright display; 50MP main camera; dedicated microSD slot; PTA approved with official warranty.
- Cons: Slow 15W charging; HD+ resolution only; eMMC storage; 4G only; no NFC.
Who Should Buy the Vivo Y18?
The Y18 is for budget gamers and students who want the best performance per rupee under Rs. 43,000. If battery life is the priority, the Vivo Y28 with its 6,000mAh cell and 44W charging is the step up. If the budget is even tighter, the Vivo Y04 covers the basics at Rs. 30,999.
Where to Buy and Price Comparison Tips
Buy from authorised dealers or trusted online stores. Compare the vivo y18 6gb price pakistan against the 4GB model — the Rs. 4,500 difference is justified for heavier users. Avoid non-PTA units that surface at suspiciously low prices.
Vivo Y18 Price in Pakistan: Full Review
The vivo y18 price in pakistan makes it the cheapest phone with the Helio G85 — the budget gaming champion.
Chipset deep-dive: The Helio G85 out-muscles every Snapdragon 6-series chip in this price band for gaming. Free Fire at high settings, PUBG Mobile at smooth settings, and daily apps without drama. The 12nm process is less efficient than newer chips, but the 5,000mAh battery still lasts a full day.
The RAM question: This is the Y18’s most important buying decision. The 4GB base variant is fine for light users; the 6GB variant (Rs. 42,999) is noticeably smoother with multiple apps open. Vivo’s extended RAM helps, but it is no substitute for physical RAM — heavy multitaskers should pay the Rs. 4,500 premium.
Charging — the weak spot: 15W charging on a 5,000mAh battery means roughly two hours for a full charge. If you often charge in a hurry, this alone may push you toward the Y28 with its 44W charging.
Storage note: eMMC 5.1 storage is slower than UFS — app installs and large file moves take longer. The dedicated microSD slot (up to 1TB) offsets the 128GB cap for media hoarders.
Vivo Y18 vs Vivo Y28: Key Differences
Same Helio G85 chip, but the Y28 adds a 6,000mAh battery (vs 5,000mAh), 44W charging (vs 15W), 8GB RAM and a brighter display for Rs. 6,500 more. If you can stretch, the Y28 is the obviously better phone. The Y18’s case rests entirely on the vivo y18 price in pakistan staying under Rs. 40,000 — it is the best gaming phone for buyers who cannot spend more.
