What Is Türkiye Burslari?
Türkiye Burslari, also known as Türkiye Scholarships, is run by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, known as YTB. It is open to citizens of all countries, and Pakistanis are fully eligible to apply. Every year, students from across the world use this programme to study in Turkey at public universities, in a country that feels culturally familiar to many Pakistani families, with strong universities, lively student cities and a large international student community.
How This Scholarship Is Different
In most countries, you first have to secure admission to a university on your own, and only then look for funding. Türkiye Burslari works the other way around. The programme itself places successful candidates in a university and department. When you apply, you rank your programme preferences — you can list up to 12 choices — and the placement is made through the scholarship process.
This matters a lot in practice. You do not need a separate university admission offer before applying, and you do not need to write to dozens of departments hoping one will reply. You prepare one strong application, choose your preferences carefully and honestly, and let the system match you. That is also why your preference list deserves real thought: order the programmes you would genuinely be happy to study, in cities you would be happy to live in.
What the Scholarship Covers
The package is comprehensive. According to the official programme information, a Türkiye Burslari award includes:
- Full university tuition fees for your degree programme
- A monthly stipend to help with your living costs
- Accommodation support during your studies
- Health insurance
- A one-off flight ticket for your arrival in Turkey and your return after completing your studies
- A free one-year Turkish language course before you begin your degree

Programmes and Levels You Can Apply For
The scholarship is not limited to one level. It covers associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and PhD programmes. There are also research scholarships and Turkish language programmes for those with academic or language-focused goals.
This wide range means the programme can fit you at almost any stage. A student finishing intermediate can aim for a bachelor’s degree. A graduate with a strong record can look at a master’s. And experienced researchers have a dedicated route as well. The key is to apply at the level that matches the qualification you already hold, or will complete by the end of the current academic year.
Who Can Apply: Marks and Age Limits
Eligibility is clear and strictly applied, so please check yourself against these criteria before you invest time in the application.
Minimum academic scores:
- At least 70% marks for undergraduate candidates
- At least 75% marks for master’s and PhD candidates
- At least 90% marks for health sciences — Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy
Age limits:
- Under 21 years for undergraduate programmes
- Under 30 years for master’s programmes
- Under 35 years for PhD programmes
- Under 50 years for the Research Scholarship
You are eligible if you are a citizen of any country and you have already graduated, or you will graduate by the end of the current academic year. Researchers and academics can apply under the research programme. The only clear exclusion is that Turkish citizens, and people who have lost Turkish citizenship, are not eligible for this programme.
The Application Window: 10 January to 20 February
Applications are made online, and the application itself is completely free of charge. The window is the same every year: it opens on 10 January and closes on 20 February. That means the next window opens on 10 January 2027.
Six weeks may sound like plenty of time, but experienced applicants will tell you it passes very quickly. Documents need attestation, transcripts need collecting, and the online form asks for careful, thoughtful answers. If your university or board takes two weeks to issue a document, a January start could already be too late.
That is why we strongly advise you to use November and December to prepare. Gather your transcripts and certificates, make sure your passport is valid, think through your 12 programme preferences, and draft your answers in a notebook or document first. When the portal opens in January, you will be uploading and checking — not running from office to office in a panic.
What Happens After You Apply?
Once the window closes, applications are evaluated by the programme. Shortlisted candidates are then invited for an interview, and the final results are announced in the summer. This timeline helps your family plan: apply in winter, and by summer you should know where you stand, with time to prepare for departure and the language course afterwards.
A Sincere Warning About Agents
Because this scholarship is popular in Pakistan, some agents charge students large sums to “submit” an application that is, in fact, free. Please hear this clearly: nobody needs to pay an agent to apply for Türkiye Burslari. The official application is online and free of charge. If someone guarantees you selection in return for money, walk away — no one can honestly guarantee a competitive government scholarship.
