Mumbai: Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff survived a shocking shooting attack in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18, 2026, after motorcycle-borne gunmen opened fire on his car as he was leaving a football ground near Pushpa Narsee Park. The actor escaped without bullet injuries, but his driver was injured in the firing.
Tiger Shroff Shooting in Juhu: What Happened
According to Mumbai Police and multiple news reports, the Tiger Shroff attack in Mumbai took place at around 7 pm on Sunday near Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu, a well-known coastal suburb in western Mumbai that is home to several film personalities. Shroff was reportedly returning from a football session when the assailants struck.
The attackers arrived on a motorcycle and fired multiple rounds at close range at the actor’s BMW sedan. Reports suggest between four and seven shots were discharged, aimed at the windshield and side windows of the vehicle. Dramatic video footage circulating on social media shows at least two gunmen firing repeatedly at the front passenger side of the slowly moving car before fleeing on a motorcycle kept ready by a third accomplice.
Shroff himself was not hit by any bullet. Police and medical sources confirmed that he suffered only minor abrasions caused by shattered glass from the car’s windows. However, the actor was later seen with dressings below his neck and a bandage around his arm, consistent with injuries from flying glass shards rather than gunfire.
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility for Tiger Shroff Car Firing
Shortly after the Tiger Shroff shooting in Juhu, a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit surfaced in a video on social media claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and taking responsibility for the attack. In the video, he alleged that Shroff had been targeted because he was “not heeding directions” and was “working with Salman Khan,” according to NDTV.
Lawrence Bishnoi, currently lodged in a Gujarat jail, has issued repeated threats against Salman Khan over the years. The alleged motive behind the Tiger Shroff attack in Mumbai appears linked to Shroff’s professional association with Salman Khan, though Mumbai Police have not officially confirmed the gang’s claim and investigations are ongoing.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has previously claimed responsibility for attacks on Bollywood figures. In February 2026, five rounds were fired outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu, with the gang claiming responsibility. Earlier, in April 2024, two men on a motorcycle opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments home in Bandra, firing five rounds. Two members of the gang were later arrested in connection with that attack.
Tiger Shroff Safe After Attack: Driver Injured, Police Launch Manhunt
In the Tiger Shroff car firing incident, the actor’s driver, identified as Firdaus, sustained a gunshot injury to his left hand, according to police statements reported by NDTV. A passerby, an autorickshaw driver, was also injured in the shooting and taken to hospital with chest injuries.
In a remarkable show of composure, Shroff switched seats with his wounded driver after the attack and drove him to a nearby hospital himself. A woman can be heard in the circulating video urging, “Jaldi le kar jaao, Tiger” (take him quickly, Tiger), as the actor takes the wheel.
The Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch have launched a full investigation into the attack and a manhunt is underway to identify and apprehend the assailants. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis contacted the Mumbai Police Commissioner to seek details of the firing and directed the police to expedite the investigation, according to India Today.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger Shroff’s residence late on Sunday night to check on the actor’s well-being and review the situation. Visuals shared by news agency ANI showed Shinde meeting Shroff at his residence. Shinde later said the actor and his mother had been left shaken by the incident, adding that such intimidation would not be accepted and pledging strict action against those responsible.
A Pattern of Attacks Raising Security Concerns
The Tiger Shroff attack in Mumbai has renewed serious concerns about the safety of prominent figures in India’s entertainment capital. The shooting took place barely 350 metres from the Juhu police station, underscoring the audacity of the attackers.
The episode is the latest in a disturbing pattern of targeted attacks in Mumbai. In 2024, besides the firing outside Salman Khan’s residence, influential politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in the city. The back-to-back incidents involving Bollywood celebrities have prompted calls for stronger security for high-profile figures.
Tiger Shroff, 36, is the son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff and made his screen debut in 2014 with the romantic action film Heropanti. Known for his action roles and dancing skills, he has starred in films including Baaghi, War and Heropanti 2. Away from cinema, Shroff is a passionate football enthusiast and plays for the professional club Mumbay FC, the club whose ground he had been leaving when the attack occurred.
As the investigation continues, the Mumbai Police are examining CCTV footage from the area and the viral video of the attack to track down the shooters. Further updates are expected as the probe progresses.
