Honor has given smartphone buyers something genuinely new to look at — a second screen on the back of the phone. The company has officially revealed its Honor 700 series in China, and every model in the line-up carries a small display built into the rear camera island, a feature that until now has mostly been reserved for far more expensive flagship phones.
The reveal came on 6 November 2026, when Honor published official images of all three models — the Honor 700, the Honor 700 Pro and the Honor 700S — and opened reservations in China. Prices and a launch date are still to be announced, but the design is now official, and it is the rear display that has captured most of the attention.
A second screen built into the camera island
The most striking detail of the Honor 700 series is the square secondary display sitting inside the large rear camera module, next to the lenses. Reports put the panel at about 1.72 inches, and Honor’s own renders show it as a compact, rounded-square screen that blends into the camera island rather than sitting apart from it.
The little screen is designed to do several jobs at once. It can show the time and incoming notifications at a glance, display the weather, and control music playback — a quicker, less distracting way to check the phone than waking the main display. Its most practical trick, however, is photography: because the rear display acts as a viewfinder, users can frame selfies with the phone’s main rear cameras instead of the front camera, which should mean sharper selfies and better portraits.
Rear displays are not entirely new — rival makers have experimented with them on flagship models this year — but Honor is bringing the idea to its number series, which sits in the upper mid-range rather than the ultra-premium tier. That could make it the cheapest way yet to try a phone with a screen on both sides.
Three models: Honor 700, 700 Pro and 700S
Honor is launching the series in three versions. The Honor 700 and the Honor 700 Pro each carry three rear cameras, while the Honor 700S makes do with two, which suggests it will be the most affordable of the three.
All three share the same core design, including the rear display and a flat main screen with slim, even bezels. According to listings on Honor’s Chinese online store, every model starts with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with versions offering up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The launch colours are Blue Tone, Cold White, Clear Sky and Pink Mist.
200MP camera and 9,000mAh battery — reported, not confirmed
Beyond the design, most of the hardware detail is still unofficial, and it is important to separate what Honor has confirmed from what tipsters are reporting. Well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, cited by several outlets, reports that the Honor 700 Pro will carry a 200-megapixel main camera, possibly joined by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, and a battery of around 9,000mAh — which would be one of the largest batteries in any phone of this class.
The same reports point to a 6.57-inch flat OLED main display with 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip in the standard Honor 700 and the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in the Pro. All three models are said to have passed China’s 3C certification with chargers rated at up to 80W, and the Pro is rumoured to add 50W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
None of those figures has been confirmed by Honor, and the company has not published a full specification sheet. Until the launch event takes place, treat the camera, battery and chip details as credible reports rather than final facts.
Price and launch date still unknown
The two questions buyers most want answered — how much will it cost, and when can I buy one — remain open. Honor has not announced prices or a launch date, and its store pages in China list the phones without a sale price. Some retailers are taking reservations with a small deposit of 9.9 yuan, roughly a dollar and forty cents, simply to hold a place in line.
Reports suggest the series will launch in China before the end of November. If Honor follows the pattern of previous generations, the phones could then reach Europe and the UK in early 2027. There is no confirmation yet of a global launch, so buyers outside China will have to wait for Honor’s next announcement.
Will the Honor 700 series come to Pakistan?
Honor has not announced anything about Pakistan availability for the 700 series, and there is no official launch date for the country. Pakistani buyers who want the new phones will most likely have to wait for an official announcement or rely on importers, as has been the case with recent Honor models. Any price quoted for Pakistan before an official announcement would be guesswork.
What is clear is that Honor is betting on a visible, practical feature — a second screen you can actually use every day — rather than another incremental camera upgrade. If the reported 200-megapixel camera and 9,000mAh battery turn out to be accurate, the Honor 700 Pro in particular could be one of the most talked-about mid-range phones of the year. The launch event, expected later this month, will confirm whether the reports live up to the reveal.
