Aashir Wajahat’s photo sends fans into a frenzy
Pakistani actor, singer and composer Aashir Wajahat has set social media buzzing by sharing a photograph with Samar Jafri, Abul Hassan and director Syed Meesam Naqvi. The single image — four of the names most closely associated with one of ARY Digital’s biggest recent hits — was enough to send fans into a frenzy, with “Parwarish reunion” trending among drama lovers within hours.
The photograph, which surfaced on 3 November 2026, immediately revived memories of Parwarish, the Gen-Z focused drama that became a cultural talking point last year. Fans were quick to read between the lines: the same young stars and the same director, together in one frame, could only mean one thing.
The reunion project already in the pipeline
The excitement is not entirely wishful thinking. In June 2026 it was reported that the creative team behind Parwarish was already coming back together for a brand new television project on ARY Digital. Writer Kiran Siddique and director Syed Meesam Naqvi were set to collaborate again after the success of Parwarish, with Samar Jafri, Aashir Wajahat and Abul Hassan all named in the upcoming drama’s cast, alongside Ameema Khan.
Big Bang Productions is producing the project, continuing its run of youth-focused television. Details of the storyline and release date have not been officially revealed, but the project was described as already under production. The new photograph may well be the first public sign that the reunion is taking shape.
Why Parwarish still matters to its fans

Parwarish, which first aired on 7 April last year on ARY Digital, was one of the most talked-about dramas of its season. Directed by Meesam Naqvi for Big Bang Entertainment, it tackled parenting challenges and the emotional struggles of the younger generation through a joint-family story — a theme that landed strongly with young twenty-something viewers in Pakistan.
The drama’s Gen-Z ensemble — Samar Jafri as Wali, Abul Hasan as Sameer, Aina Asif as Maya and Reham Rafiq as Amal — won widespread praise, and the show’s willingness to spark difficult conversations kept it in the headlines. Naqvi himself played a memorable comic role, “Boss”, in the series, and publicly defended the show’s portrayal of teenage relationships as a reflection of social reality rather than something to romanticise.
Who’s who in the reunion frame
Each of the four faces in the new photograph carries weight with drama audiences. Aashir Wajahat, the son of Shazia and Wajahat Rauf, has built a dual career as a singer-composer and actor — most recently earning praise for playing Subuk in the drama Kafeel, and making his lead film debut in John opposite Romaisa Khan.
Samar Jafri, who played Wali in Parwarish, broke out with Mayi Ri and has since worked closely with Aashir — the pair starred together in the Eid comedy Na Baligh Afraad and have collaborated musically, including the song “Tum Na Ho”. Abul Hassan, the third member of the frame, played Sameer in Parwarish, where his on-screen chemistry with Jafri was a fan favourite.
What to realistically expect next
Neither ARY Digital nor the artists involved have officially announced a Parwarish sequel or a launch date for the new project. For now, fans have one photograph and a trail of credible reports to go on — but given that the reunion drama is already in production, it may only be a matter of time before the team makes it official. When that happens, Pakistan’s drama audience will be ready: Parwarish’s following never really left.
