iOS 27.3 Beta Released: New Health App, Siri AI Upgrades and Release Date

Apple has started testing its next major iPhone software update. The company released the first developer beta of iOS 27.3 on 3 November 2026, carrying build number 24C5037i, less than two weeks after iOS 27.2 reached the public on 26 October. The early build gives us a clear picture of what iPhone users can expect when the finished update arrives in December — and the headline act is a redesigned Health app that Apple is giving a second chance.

The redesigned Health app is back

The biggest change in the iOS 27.3 beta is the return of Apple’s redesigned Health app. The new look appeared briefly during iOS 27.2 beta testing before Apple pulled it ahead of the public release for extra polish. Now it is back, built around a new Insights tab that pulls together personalised health summaries and recommendations based on activity, sleep, fitness and other health data. It also introduces Health Age, a feature that estimates how your habits are affecting your body over time — although Apple confirms this one requires an Apple Watch, since it depends on watch-collected data.

The redesigned Health experience will be available as a free update later this year, and Apple has confirmed broader language support for it, covering global English, French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese and Chinese.

Siri AI gets far more useful — with some limits

The Siri AI update in iOS 27.3 is the second major pillar. Apple’s voice assistant can now carry out far more detailed actions inside the company’s own apps — including Mail, Safari, Files, Calendar, Messages, Photos, Notes, Reminders, Music, Maps, Journal, Preview, Shortcuts and Weather. Through a new Developer Preview, any developer can connect their own app to Siri AI using App Intents, opening the door to much deeper voice control across third-party apps too.

Mail gets two handy new Siri actions: one that unsubscribes you from mailing lists and another that undoes a sent message. Language support grows as well — Siri AI already speaks English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, and the beta adds Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese, the four languages Apple had promised by the end of the year.

There are caveats. Apple notes that Siri AI and other server-based features come with daily usage limits, with expanded access planned as a paid option later. And Siri AI remains unavailable on iPhone in the European Union for now.

Apple Intelligence finally reaches China

Perhaps the most consequential piece of the release is the first broad deployment of Apple Intelligence on Chinese iPhones. In a Chinese-language newsroom post dated 31 October, Apple said the features would open for testing on 4 November with the latest developer beta, with regular users in China getting them when iOS 27.3 launches in December.

The first batch includes Writing Tools, Genmoji, Clean Up, Visual Intelligence, notification summaries and live translation through AirPods. Access is restricted to the iPhone 15 family and newer hardware, since the most demanding on-device processing needs the latest silicon — and Apple has confirmed that its newer Siri AI features will not be part of the initial China rollout.

Smaller changes, and the iOS 27.3 release date

Beyond the headline features, the iOS 27.3 features list includes several everyday improvements. StandBy features first introduced on the iPhone Duo now expand to every iPhone running iOS 27, with updated Analog and Digital clock faces offering more colour and complication options. Safari gains an Adaptive Dark Mode that restyles light websites while preserving photographs, plus optional vertical tabs. Apple Fitness+ adds new Gym Strength workouts, and iPhone Duo owners get Reachability and a revised keyboard for one-handed use.

As for the iOS 27.3 release date, Apple has pointed to a public launch in December — with early to mid-December the most likely window — though no exact day has been announced. Developers can try the beta now via Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, choosing the iOS 27 Developer Beta. A public beta has not been announced yet. And as with any early beta, individual features may change or disappear before the finished update ships.
