Allied Bank’s digital banking services suffered a fresh wave of disruptions across Pakistan on Tuesday afternoon, leaving customers unable to log into the myABL mobile app and blocking fund transfers. United Bank Limited (UBL) services were also reported down, with customers flooding social media to report outages at both banks.
The disruption marks the third notable banking outage in three months — following earlier service failures in August and mid-October 2026 — though the volume of customer complaints this time appears smaller than the previous nationwide outages, and it is not yet clear whether both banks’ problems share a common cause.
What customers reported on Tuesday

The first complaints surfaced on Tuesday afternoon, when myABL users began reporting login failures on the mobile app. As the hours passed, the reports widened: blocked fund transfers, missing transaction notifications, and failed logins on Allied Bank’s web-based internet banking portal as well — meaning both of the bank’s primary digital channels were affected at the same time.
One customer said the app had been “not working” for five hours straight, while another reported that Allied Bank and HBL debit cards were failing at point-of-sale terminals. With app and web portal both down, many customers said they had no working digital route to their accounts.
UBL also hit — no official word yet

UBL customers separately reported downtime across social media platforms on the same evening. Multiple customers are reporting login and transfer problems as the disruption spread. Unlike Allied Bank, UBL has not issued any public acknowledgement of the disruption, and no official announcement has been made about what caused the outage or how long services were affected.
Because the two banks’ disruptions arrived on the same day, some customers speculated about a shared cause — but neither bank has confirmed any link, and there is no verified evidence that the two outages are connected.
How Allied Bank is responding

Allied Bank’s official account on X (@ABLpk) was actively replying to customers through the evening. The bank acknowledged the reported problems and asked affected users to share their contact details and CNIC number via direct message so its team could follow up.
Bank representatives told customers that the team was “currently investigating” the disruptions. However, as of Wednesday morning, the bank had not issued a formal public statement, and no official update has confirmed that services are fully restored.
Is this becoming a pattern?

Wednesday morning brought quieter news: no new public complaints about the myABL app or Allied Bank’s digital services have appeared on X so far today, and Tuesday’s complaints have stopped showing up in recent searches. That suggests services may have stabilised — but without a formal all-clear from the bank, the recovery remains unconfirmed.
The August and mid-October outages drew larger waves of complaints, and each time customers complained about slow, vague communication from their banks. The episode is another reminder of how central digital banking in Pakistan has become to everyday commerce, even as new payment technology training expands — including Mojaloop-based instant payment training for local developers. For now, affected customers are advised to keep an eye on the bank’s official X account for updates, and to avoid repeated login attempts or urgent large transfers until the bank confirms services are fully back.
