TikTok Removed 23.2 Million Videos in Pakistan in Just Three Months
TikTok has taken down more than 23.2 million videos in Pakistan in a single quarter, according to the platform’s latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report. The figures, covering April to June 2026, underline just how large the platform’s moderation machine has become — and how much of it now runs without a single human ever pressing a button.
The exact count disclosed for Pakistan stands at 23,243,711 videos removed during the three-month period. The TikTok Pakistan video removals make the country one of the largest single markets for content enforcement anywhere in the world, reflecting both the platform’s enormous user base here and the pressure it faces from Pakistani regulators to keep violating content off the feed.
The Pakistan numbers, in detail
Of the videos removed in Pakistan, 99.7 per cent were detected proactively — meaning TikTok’s automated systems caught them before any user filed a report. A further 94.5 per cent of the removed videos were taken down within 24 hours of being posted.
That combination — near-total proactive detection and one-day removal — is the fastest enforcement pace TikTok has reported for Pakistan. The overall removal rate in the country stood at 1.1 per cent of all videos published.
There is also a correction mechanism at work. After further review, TikTok restored 519,075 videos in Pakistan that had initially been removed. For creators, that number matters: it shows that automated moderation still makes mistakes, and that an appeal can work when a video is flagged incorrectly.
Global scale: 188.2 million videos gone
Worldwide, TikTok removed more than 188.2 million videos for Community Guidelines violations in the second quarter of 2026. Globally, automated detection technologies accounted for 99.5 per cent of removals, and 92.7 per cent of violating videos were taken down within 24 hours of posting. The company also restored 6,262,383 videos globally after additional reviews.
The report also details action against fake and underage accounts. During the quarter, TikTok removed 146.8 million fake accounts worldwide, along with 26.8 million accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13.
What was being removed
The biggest removal category globally was sensitive or mature themes, which accounted for 19.5 per cent of all video removals. Content related to mental and behavioural health represented 16.1 per cent, followed by body exposure and sexualised behaviour at 13.8 per cent.
Dangerous activities and challenges made up 13.5 per cent of removals — a category that has repeatedly drawn concern in Pakistan, where viral stunts have led to injuries and deaths in the past. Edited media and AI-generated content accounted for 1.8 per cent of removed videos.
What this means for Pakistani creators
The TikTok Pakistan video removals data sends a clear signal to creators: the rules are being enforced by machines first, humans second. With 99.7 per cent of removals happening before any complaint, creators cannot rely on staying under the radar — the systems scan everything, in real time.
The bright side is speed on both ends. The same automation that removes a video within hours is also reviewing appeals, and more than half a million Pakistani videos were restored after a second look. Creators who receive a strike should appeal rather than accept it, and they should re-read the Community Guidelines before posting content that sits near the line — particularly around dangerous challenges, mature themes and edited media.
The timing is also notable. Pakistan is moving to activate the Social Media Protection and Regulatory Authority under the PECA (Amendment) Act, 2025, and regulators have been pushing platforms hard on local content enforcement. TikTok’s quarterly transparency numbers are, in part, its answer to that pressure.
