Is Imran Abbas Really Quitting Showbiz? Actor Denies Exit Reports, Says Remarks Were Misinterpreted
Pakistani actor Imran Abbas has broken his silence on the viral reports claiming he has quit the entertainment industry. The star of Khuda Aur Mohabbat and Tum Kon Piya has firmly denied that he is walking away from showbiz, saying his earlier remarks were misinterpreted and that reports of his departure are simply false. The Imran Abbas quitting showbiz saga has kept fans guessing for days — and the actor’s clarification finally sets the record straight.
The confusion began when reports surfaced that the actor had bid farewell to acting altogether, prompting an outpouring of disappointment from his admirers. But Imran Abbas quitting showbiz was never the full story, the actor insists, and he took to Instagram to personally address the rumours head-on.
“Just Heard From Social Media”: The Post That Set the Record Straight
In an Instagram post, Imran expressed genuine surprise over the rumours, writing: “Just heard from social media that I have quit showbiz.” The actor made it clear that he has not exited the industry, and that his words in a recent interview were taken out of context by those reporting on them.
He explained that over the past two years, he has focused more on his businesses and charitable commitments, which led him to turn down numerous television and film offers — including projects backed by government film funds. The Imran Abbas quitting showbiz headlines, he said, mistook a shift in priorities for a permanent goodbye.
Why He Stepped Away From TV Dramas: Business, Architecture and Charity
While the actor denies quitting showbiz, he has been open about stepping back from regular television work. A trained architect by profession, Imran has formally entered the real estate sector and is developing a major construction project in Islamabad — a 12-storey residential tower named Eyrie in Mumtaz City near Islamabad Airport, expected to be completed in about two and a half years.
Alongside business, philanthropy has become a central part of his life. Having lost both his parents and with no children of his own, the actor has said he wants to dedicate himself to charitable work and leave a positive legacy — a motivation he has spoken about with visible emotion.
The Interview That Started It All
The rumours trace back to a recent phone interview on host Mishi Khan’s morning show, where Imran revealed he had stopped taking on television drama projects over the past two to three years. Some outlets reported this as a complete farewell to acting — a reading the actor now firmly rejects.
The Imran Abbas quitting showbiz narrative spread quickly across entertainment pages and YouTube channels, with many assuming the heartthrob of millions had closed the door on his acting career. His Instagram clarification drew a clear line: stepping away from routine TV dramas is not the same as quitting the industry.
Will Imran Abbas Return? What the Actor Says About His Future
So what comes next for the star? Imran has said he will continue working in television and cinema whenever a project offers the substance, purpose and creative depth he seeks. In other words, the door remains open — he is simply being selective, choosing meaningful work over constant visibility.
For fans of his unforgettable performances in Khuda Aur Mohabbat, Koi Chand Rakh and Tum Kon Piya — as well as his Bollywood appearances in Creature 3D and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil — that is welcome news. The Imran Abbas quitting showbiz scare appears to be over, and the actor’s next chapter, whether on screen or in business and charity, will be one his millions of followers watch closely.
