Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Jude Bellingham over a new long-term contract that will keep the England midfielder at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2031, according to reports in Spain. The Bellingham Real Madrid contract extension rewards the 23-year-old with improved financial terms and secures one of world football’s brightest talents through the peak years of his career.
Spanish outlet AS broke the news of the Bellingham Real Madrid contract on October 16, reporting that the player had “no doubts” about committing his future to the 15-time European champions. The new deal adds two years to his existing agreement, which was due to run until 2029 following his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2023.
Bellingham Real Madrid Contract: The Key Details
The Bellingham Real Madrid contract extension will run until June 30, 2031, and includes a significant salary increase reflecting his status as one of the squad’s most influential players. Negotiations began towards the end of last season, and both parties were reportedly in full agreement from the outset of discussions.
Bellingham has made 150 competitive appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 49 goals and providing 36 assists. The extension comes days after he reached his 150th appearance in the 4-3 Champions League comeback win over Roma, a match in which he also recorded his 100th win for the club.
The improved terms acknowledge his evolution from teenage prodigy to dressing room leader. Club officials view the Bellingham Real Madrid contract as a statement of intent, securing the core of the team for the rest of the decade.
From Dortmund to Madrid: Bellingham’s Journey
When Bellingham joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, few predicted just how quickly he would adapt. The Bellingham Real Madrid contract was initially signed as a six-year deal, but his impact exceeded all expectations from his very first season.
In his debut campaign, Bellingham scored prolifically from midfield, helping Madrid to La Liga and Champions League glory. His celebration — arms outstretched before the Bernabeu crowd — became an iconic image of the club’s modern era.
The 2025-26 season tested him, as persistent shoulder problems forced him to delay surgery to help the team through a demanding period. Despite scoring only six goals in 28 La Liga appearances that season, his commitment endeared him further to supporters.
Revival Under Mourinho and World Cup Form
Bellingham’s resurgence has coincided with the arrival of Jose Mourinho as Real Madrid manager. The Bellingham Real Madrid contract extension reflects the manager’s faith in the midfielder, who now operates with greater attacking freedom behind Kylian Mbappe.
This season, Bellingham has already contributed three goals and three assists in La Liga, with Mourinho praising his defensive work and ability to initiate pressure from midfield. His role has evolved, with more freedom to choose when to drop deep and when to burst into the penalty area.
His England form has been equally impressive. Bellingham scored eight goals for England at the World Cup and earned praise from Roy Keane for his work without possession in the victory over Croatia, underlining his all-round development.
What the 2031 Deal Means for Real Madrid
The Bellingham Real Madrid contract takes the midfielder through to his 28th birthday, covering the years when Madrid will expect him to assume even greater responsibility. It follows the club’s long-standing strategy of tying down generational talents early.
With Vinicius Junior, Mbappe, and Bellingham all secured on long-term deals, Real Madrid’s attacking core is set for years. The Bellingham Real Madrid contract ensures stability as the club transitions towards a new era under Mourinho.
For supporters, the news confirms what they already believed: Bellingham is not just a star player but a future captain and the face of the club’s next decade. The Bernabeu faithful’s backing was reportedly a key factor in his decision to commit.
