Tamasha Season 5 winner Babrik Shah has finally talked money — and his claim is turning heads across Pakistani showbiz. Appearing on a We News podcast with Hina Salman, the actor said he was the most expensive contestant of the entire season, revealing that his total earnings from the reality show ran into the millions.
The confession, reported by reviewit.pk on 29 October, is the first time any contestant has spoken publicly about the pay structure of ARY Digital’s hit reality show. Babrik, who lifted the Tamasha 5 trophy earlier this month, stopped short of naming the exact figure — but he dropped enough hints to keep fans guessing.
“I Was the Most Expensive Guy at Tamasha 5”
Babrik Shah did not hide his market value. “I don’t know if we can reveal the Tamasha fee or not but I was the most expensive guy at Tamasha 5,” he said during the podcast. The veteran actor — known for dramas like Baaghi, Dastaan and Roag — explained that his fee reflected his experience and the audience he brought to the show.
He also revealed that his daily allowance during the nearly 65-day stay inside the Tamasha house was “quite healthy”. Contestants live cut off from the outside world for weeks at a time, and the per-day allowance, he suggested, was generous enough to make the sacrifice worthwhile.
The Win Prize Was Not in the Agreement

One of the most interesting details was about the winner’s prize itself. According to Babrik Shah, the Rs 47 lakh cash prize — worth Rs 4.7 million — was never part of his agreement with the producers. “The winning amount was extra money, we didn’t count that in our agreement, because it was something that we were supposed to get after winning the trophy and no one knew who was going to win,” he said.
He added that he did not even know the size of the prize before joining the show. “I got to know about the prize money after joining the show because I was unaware of it,” he admitted — a remark that suggests the producers kept the final figure close to their chest during negotiations.
“My Earnings Were in Millions” — but the Exact Figure Is a Secret
When pressed for the actual number, Babrik Shah laughed it off with a promise that the truth would come out on its own. “You don’t have any idea how much I charged, but you will eventually know when I will get the tax, as it is FBR’s knowledge,” he said. “My earnings were in millions.”
The tax comment has delighted fans, who joked on social media that the Federal Board of Revenue would soon settle the debate. His appearance fee, the daily allowance for more than two months inside the house, and the winner’s prize together clearly added up to one of the biggest payouts in Tamasha’s five-season history.
From Comeback to Champion
Babrik Shah’s Tamasha journey has been one of the standout stories of the season. The grand finale, held on 11 October 2026 at the ARY Studio’s Tamasha House in Karachi and hosted by Adnan Siddiqui alongside Shoaib Malik, Armala Hassan and Hasan Chaudhry, saw him beat fellow finalists Esra Ayesha and Fasih Khalid in the final voting rounds.
His win was celebrated widely across the industry, with stars including Sanam Baloch and Sajal Aly publicly congratulating him. For an actor who had been away from the spotlight for years, Tamasha Season 5 proved to be a spectacular comeback — and, as it turns out, a very well-paid one.
