Alfaaz Storms Into Spotify’s Global Top 50 as Hamza Malik and Zain Zohaib Score Pakistan’s Newest Music Milestone

Alfaaz Storms Into Spotify’s Global Top 50 as Hamza Malik and Zain Zohaib Score Pakistan’s Newest Music Milestone

Pakistani music has a new global calling card. “Alfaaz”, the Urdu-Punjabi collaboration by Hamza Malik and Zain Zohaib, has climbed to No. 39 on Spotify’s Top 50 – Global chart, placing the track alongside songs by some of the biggest names in international music and marking one of the strongest global chart performances ever achieved by a Pakistani song.

The milestone, reported widely on 29 October 2026, puts “Alfaaz” in company it could barely have dreamed of a few months ago: the same global chart currently features tracks by Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and Harry Styles. For the artists behind it — Zain Ali, Zohaib Ali (performing as Zain Zohaib) and Hamza Malik — the ranking is the biggest moment of their careers so far.

No. 39 on Spotify’s Global Top 50

“Alfaaz” secured the 39th position on Spotify’s Global Top 50, a daily chart that measures the most-streamed songs on the planet. Independent chart trackers recorded the song pulling in nearly 1.92 million streams in a single day during its climb, with its daily stream count rising by more than 130,000 in one session — a sign of genuine momentum rather than a one-day spike.

The track has now spent more than three weeks on the global chart and has accumulated over 31 million total streams — remarkable numbers for a song performed primarily in Urdu and Punjabi. Its rise shows how streaming has levelled the playing field: a song recorded in Pakistan can now travel to playlists and earphones across the world without needing a major international label behind it.

Topping the charts in Pakistan and India

The global ranking is only part of the story. “Alfaaz” has also reached No. 1 on Spotify’s daily Top 50 charts in both Pakistan and India — a rare cross-border achievement for a Pakistani track, and one that underlines how music continues to find audiences on both sides of the border even when little else travels between the two countries.

In Pakistan, the song has been a fixture at the top of the daily chart for weeks, holding the No. 1 spot for more than 50 days and drawing around 150,000 streams a day from Pakistani listeners alone. The track has also charted in the UAE and Canada, reflecting the strength of the Pakistani diaspora’s streaming power.

Its momentum has extended to the United Kingdom as well, where “Alfaaz” climbed to second place on the Official Asian Music Chart, overtaking “Straight Up” by MXRCI and Karan Aujla. The song’s blend of Urdu and Punjabi lyrics has helped it connect with listeners well beyond its home market.

Giraffe Studio calls it “unprecedented”

The song was produced by Giraffe, the studio co-founded by renowned Pakistani music producer Zulfiqar J Khan — better known to millions as Xulfi. The studio described the track’s global chart performance as “unprecedented” for a Pakistani song, saying its success demonstrated how far a song can travel once it truly connects with an audience.

This is not Giraffe’s first chart triumph. Last year, the studio’s “Majboor”, performed by Sheheryar Rehan and Zoha Waseem, topped Spotify’s Pakistan chart and reached No. 2 in India. Giraffe noted that the two songs followed very different creative paths and reflected the individual artists behind them — but together they showed the opportunities that open up when compelling music finds its listeners.

The campaign behind the climb

All By Play Alfaaz Spotify campaign marketing

Behind “Alfaaz” sits a carefully built three-month marketing campaign by All By Play, the music marketing agency founded by Dhaval Kothari. Sharing the campaign’s journey, Kothari said the strategy focused on building a culture around the song rather than relying on conventional promotional tactics such as playlist additions, sponsored advertisements or influencer marketing.

Over three months, the agency ran a customised 360-degree campaign combining emotion-led storytelling, cover artists, music and art communities, Instagram Reel transitions, strategic content seeding, data-led audience building and continuous performance marketing. Each phase of the rollout was designed around audience insights, with every activity serving a specific purpose.

Kothari also credited Zain Zohaib’s international performances with adding to the song’s growing cross-border presence, and noted the track’s resonance with diaspora audiences across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. For All By Play, the milestone caps the agency’s five-year journey — and, in Kothari’s words, proves that every song needs its own individual strategy to help its audience connection travel further.

For Pakistani music, “Alfaaz” is more than a chart position. It is proof that songs in Urdu and Punjabi can compete on the world’s biggest streaming stage — and a signal that the next global hit from Pakistan may already be climbing the charts.
