Narnia Magician’s Nephew Trailer: Greta Gerwig Takes on Narnia

After the phenomenal success of Barbie, Greta Gerwig directing a Narnia film is one of Hollywood’s most exciting pairings. Her talent for blending spectacle with genuine emotion makes her a natural fit for Lewis’s world — and expectations are sky-high.

The Story: The Magician’s Nephew

The Magician’s Nephew is the chronological beginning of the Narnia saga — the origin story of the magical world itself. It follows two children, Digory and Polly, whose adventures with magic rings lead to the creation of Narnia, the birth of Aslan’s world, and the origin of the White Witch. It is the perfect starting point for a new film series.

What the Trailer Shows

According to reports on the trailer’s release, the footage leans into wonder and scale — glimpses of a world being born, Aslan’s presence, and the magic that will define the saga. The visual tone suggests Gerwig is aiming for awe rather than darkness, staying true to the book’s sense of discovery.
